This was a test animation to see how an idea developing in my head was going to pan out. I'm aware that for some bizarre reason it looks as though Tobias is sliding forward but that's just due to me sketching too quickly and not paying attention to proportions!

The next image Ill upload is a coloured frame from this image which then led to be developing the technique of colouring artwork in Flash first.

Ahhh, I'd really like going into animation, though my computer can't handle any of it. O_O You did an excellent job on this!

You could always try traditional animation (it takes a while to scan all the separate frames but is worth it). If you want to give it a shot, I suggest making a little flip book to see if you enjoy it :)

That seems like a good option.... I'm just not sure what program to use to put them all together. . . I only have a couple animations I tried on this awkward program. It came with my tablet... I think I'm going to try the flip book idea first off though. :D

I'm going to try and finish this animation (full colour) and sort out some timing issues.
I'll probably be next doing some animations in september as have a lot of work on at the moment (I hope I can get some made sooner).

What kind of things would you like to see?

 Thank you! I'm glad that my work is inspiring you, animation is something I'm very passionate about but the time I can spend learning it is very limited. I hope to one day be able to make my feature length animation but I have a long way to go!!

Roughly half an hour to forty five minutes. I was working on another animation at the same time so this was my stress relief!

Sorry for the late reply, I really had to think about this!! Hmm I generally work on a five week basis for a finished short animation, ranging from 1 minute to 5 minutes (this depends if I have anything else going on at the time i.e work, other art, or holidays :D). I'm generally my own worst enemy when it comes to colouring a piece as I used to used photoshop for each frame but I'm getting better as started to develop colouring straight in Flash.

Hope that answers your question :D

That's... not too bad... I've waited months for artwork

Yeah I've never been able to time myself properly as animation has always been the secret passion while other projects were in process.

What type of artwork have you waited for?

Ohhh that is lovely! Just fantastic movement here--it's very fluid, and I love how his little motions reveal so much about his character without any words at all. For example, you really conveyed his nervousness and newness at this very well :)

As for critique, the only things I could probably say is what you've already noticed yourself--that it seems as though he's sliding forward--and the part where he moves to touch the blade of his sword with his other hand seems a little rushed. But really, this is very nice, impressive work!

Thank you! This is excellent! I'm glad I put this up and its great to get tips and fresh eyes to look at the piece! I will admit that this was actually drawn quite quickly, so it is rushed but ready for the final edit of linework/timing.

Thank you. Yeah when I work on the final edit I need to change the timing of his head dipping to make it flow better. Thanks for noticing :D

I like the animation here. It is expressive, has a lot of energy, and the sword coming out has a cool flare to it. Nice work.
